Paul Sawyer Seminar - 1st July 2002

This was a not-to-be-missed session, open to all martial arts stylists, and emphasizing groundwork and locks. Paul travels to Russia each year to train with some of the very best Samboists in the world. He has represented Gt. Britain on numerous occasions, and has won many medals along the way - members attending the seminar could see why! For pictures, click here

Grappling Seminar with Tim Thomas, 1st June 2002

Tim Thomas, National Sombo Coach, visited Cambridge on 1st June 2002. On this occasion, Tim taught a range of skills from freestyle wrestling, including double leg pickups, throws and groundwork.

Savate training with Florent Lazare - 24th March 2002

Eighteen members of the Academy had the pleasure of training with the flying frenchman, Florent Lazare. Florent has been a member of the French team, and was junior French champion, in the 'Combat' discipline of Savate in 1999 and 2000. On this visit, he concentrated on training for sparring and assaut competition.

April 2000

A GBSF training weekend was hosted by CAMA, with instruction by Gilles Le Duigou, assisted by top french competitors Florent Lazare and Virginie Lescure. The main aim of the seminar was to prepare potential GBSF assaut competitors for the world championships, to be held in June. It proved to be an excellent weekend - fun, informative, and some excitment during the fight-offs for team places.
